We take a lot of care to try and get things right. Starting with original photographs, artwork and research, we aim to produce packs of signage that will add detail and realism to your models and give them a sense of authenticity.

We only use quality materials and inks. Everything that we produce is printed to a very high resolution and we take every care to produce items of the highest standard.

Since it was established by Allan Stephenson in 2010, Sankey Scenics quickly grew in size and reputation. Originally, the scale signage was just one part of the business with layout and architectural modelling being undertaken. When launched there was little in the way of choice, range of periods and quality. The quality of what was on the market varied considerably. The Sankey Scenics range of miniature signage was embraced by a growing number of modellers and the customer base grew considerably. One aspect that has been appreciated by modellers is the bespoke service offered. It allows modellers to obtain items that are not available in the size, colouring, etc. that they want for modelling projects. Not only do we produce items for 2mm, 4mm & 7mm scales but have a range for 3mm scale modellers and have on occasions produced items for Gauge 1 and larger scales.

For many years, we have worked in close association with the weathering specialist Grimy Times. Steve and Allan share stands at model railway exhibitions which gives us the opportunity to display stock and meet with customers. When Grimy Times established the shop in Warrington in 2015, Allan became heavily involved and manages the shop on a day-to-day basis for Steve.

I have been involved with railways and modelling for most of my life. I am a long-standing member of Warrington Model Railway Club, I was involved in the building of High Legh Railway and over the years had a number of layouts on the exhibition circuit - although I don't get a lot of time for modelling now! I have always attempted to detail layouts to a high standard. Sankey Scenics grew out this desire to produce high quality signage to detail my models and heighten the level of realism.

It started with items made for myself and then a few different packs that were produced for sale in 2010. Since then the range has grown considerably. There are now about 1,150 different items in our range. Customers have given very positive feedback not just about the quality of the packs but also their value for money and the speed of service. To all those who have given me encouragement especially my wife Gill and daughter Katherine, I would like to note my sincere thanks.
