Running between London Euston and Manchester London Road (later Piccadilly) this titled train was originally introduced by the London Midland and Scottish Railway in 1928. The service was suspended at the beginning of the Second World War and was only re-introduced by British Railways in 1957. It last ran as a titled train in September 1962. The train only ever carried one red headboard.
